Once I discovered apple nachos, there was no going back.
Calling them delicious is a true understatement!
And they go great with a movie or a night in with friends. What I love about them is that they aren’t hard to create at all.
Once you’ve tried the recipe (all the ingredients are easy to find and are likely already in your pantry) you can personalize it to fit your taste.
Lots of my friends like using white chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate, which adds a nice yet different savory flavor to the chocolate and sour taste of the green apples.
If you’re looking for a sweet treat that isn’t too unhealthy and leaves you bloated, then you should definitely try these apple nachos.
I’m telling you, once you try them they’ll become a staple in your home as they did in mine.

Caramel Apple Nachos: A Healthy Snack Idea That’s Ready In 5 Minutes
For this recipe you’re only going to need a few ingredients. You might have things like chocolate chips from previous cookie recipes, or even a couple chocolate bars lying around that you can melt down and use as garnish.
The chopped pecans give it a nice nutty taste that brings it all together. Almost like when you eat that caramel popcorn everyone loves.
Remember, there is no exact science to this recipe. Ya make it how you want it!
Not to mention, this recipe can make an amazing addition to your Halloween desserts come that time of the year. If you want to get a little creative, you can even make the apple nachos resemble little spiders with some pretzel legs and chocolate chip eyes.
For this recipe, there is no baking needed. Though, if you did, I’m sure you’d be left with some melty caramel apple goodness. It would probably not take more than 15-20 minutes at lower heat.
I love that you can take apple nachos pretty much everywhere, whether that means a midday snack at work, a study break snack at school, or part of the lunchbox you pack for your kids.
When it comes to creating cool snacks, there are lots of ways to get creative, and apple nachos is a great place to start. To store your nachos if you have any leftover, make sure you keep them in an airtight tupperware, preferably glass, so it stays fresher longer.

How To Make Caramel Sauce
If you want to make things easy on yourself you can easily buy a pack of caramel sauce at your favorite grocery store (the caramel apple slices sauce you can find at wal-mart for example).
Another option is to simply buy your favorite caramel candy and melt what you’ll want to use for your apple nachos.
To make a simple caramel sauce at home, mix together:
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 a stick of butter
- 1/2 a cup of your favorite milk
- A pinch of salt to your liking
- A smidge of vanilla extract
Whisk it all together in a pan until the sugar dissolves completely and its well mixed.
How To Keep Apples From Browning
One great trick to keep apples from browning is to soak them in lemon juice. Keep in mind this might add a zesty taste to them but it will definitely keep them from browning too much.
You want to make sure you limit exposure to oxygen once you’ve fixed and cut your apples. If you don’t like using lemon juice with your fruit try soaking your apple slices in pineapple juice. A lot of people swear by it to keep your apples from browning and turning yucky (though I’d still eat them regardless!).
