Let’s take a minute to address the elephant in the room.
Making healthy food choices is hard. Very darn hard.
Almost as hard as doing crunches ( I really really don’t like crunches).
But with some creativity and a little bit of drive, well, you can make some strides in the right direction.
Baby steps are always the best way to start any habit ( it’s even been scientifically proven). One great way to start getting back in shape and shed the extra pounds is to start eating better things.
Now, granted, only eating healthy snacks might not be enough to get you where you want to be fit wise, but it can make a world of a difference when they replace sugary drinks and carb loaded junk foods. AmIRight?
At the end of the day, you even feel better and with more energy to burn.
But for that to happen you have to figure out what snacks to eat, and that’s where we’ve got you covered.
Here are 11 healthy snack ideas to lose weight and satisfy those cravings.
Chia Seed Pudding

I remember when one of my best friends first introduced me to Chia seed pudding. I thought the consistency was funny at first but then I tasted it and I ended up loving it. It’s a great healthy snack idea that you can prepare the night before and have ready to take with you to work or a long day out.
Best of all, you can prepare them in your own mason jars to take them wherever and make sure it doesn’t spill.
Some of my favorite ingredients to prepare Chia Seed Pudding is Thai Chi Organic Coconut Milk along with some sort of spice, like cinnamon along with a sweetener like Stevia or honey.
I also love to use these gorgeous mason jars to take all kinds of snacks with me.
To prepare you mix all the ingredients together in your jar and let it sit overnight. Since chia seeds are tasteless, they’ll only taste like the liquid you choose to put in them, which can be anything from coconut milk to yogurt to even almond milk.
I like to ratio to be one cup of liquid for about every three tablespoons of organic chia seeds, that way the seeds build a gel-like consistency when they absorb it.

Chili Fruit Bowl

Fruit! Everybody loves fruit, and it’s 10x better when you get to season it with some chili to give it some kick and flavor.
If you don’t want to mix too many fruits you can always opt in for watermelon chunks with chili as well.
The sweet and sour/salty/spicy kick of the chili makes for a tasty combination and a filling pick me up.
A personal favorite chili that is great to season pretty much anything is Tajin Clasico Seasoning. The kick of flavor it gives anything is unbeatable.
Sweet Potato Melt

I absolutely LOVE making sweet potato melts, and due to the low fat and filling properties of sweet potatoes, they are a great healthy snack idea to help you shed the extra pounds.
The best thing about it its that they are really easy to make. All you really have to do is make sure you wash the outside of each potato, wrap them in aluminum foil, and stick in the oven at 425 degrees for 45-50 minutes (or to the tenderness of your liking).
You can add some low-fat butter to garnish on top along with some ground cinnamon to add a kick of flavor. Absolutely yummy!
Avocado Cucumber Cups

The recipe doesn’t take too long to put together so it’s definitely something you can whip up for a get-together or an on the go snack for busy days.

Quinoa is such a great source of healthy goodness I’m not even sure where to start.
Here are some of the health benefits that Quinoa contains:
- Rich in Magnesium
- Omega-3 Fatty Acids
- Contains all 9 essential amino acids
Now, for the most part, Quinoa can be a tasteless ingredient, though filling. That’s why it’s best if you mix it with other foods, as a snack, preferably healthy sweet toppings like cranberries.
