Making healthy food choices is hard. Very darn hard.

Almost as hard as doing crunches ( I really really don’t like crunches).

But with some creativity and a little bit of drive, along with a healthy snacks list, well, you can make some strides in the right direction.

Baby steps are always the best way to start any habit ( it’s even been scientifically proven). One great way to start getting back in shape and shed the extra pounds is to start eating better things.

Apple Nachos

Via Teal Notes

Ditch the traditional nachos with processed fried chips that are over salted. Work in some green apples instead and top them sparingly with your favorite snack toppers, like pecans (improve digestion and are anti inflammatory) and some melted caramel for good measure. Work in some pretzel pieces and you’re good to go.

It’s all about baby steps, and replacing less healthy things with healthier ones.

Chia Seed Pudding

I remember when one of my best friends first introduced me to Chia seed pudding. I thought the consistency was funny at first but then I tasted it and I ended up loving it. It’s a great healthy snack idea that you can prepare the night before and have ready to take with you to work or a long day out.

Best of all, you can prepare them in your own mason jars to take them wherever and make sure it doesn’t spill.

Some of my favorite ingredients to prepare Chia Seed Pudding is Thai Chi Organic Coconut Milk along with some sort of spice, like cinnamon along with a sweetener like Stevia or honey.

I also love to use these gorgeous mason jars to take all kinds of snacks with me.

To prepare you mix all the ingredients together in your jar and let it sit overnight. Since chia seeds are tasteless, they’ll only taste like the liquid you choose to put in them, which can be anything from coconut milk to yogurt to even almond milk.

I like to ratio to be one cup of liquid for about every three tablespoons of organic chia seeds, that way the seeds build a gel-like consistency when they absorb it.
